DUBAI

I recently made my first trip to Dubai to visit my son, daughter-in-law, and children who moved there last summer. I found it to be a fascinating, clean, and safe place. The hospitality and infrastructure are the best I've experienced.

This is the first of a series of four paintings based on photos I took.

There were many surprises on my first visit to Dubai. I didn't, for example, expect to see old buildings!. I thought it was all modern, built in recent decades. Not so! There's an old part of the city full of character where those selling are full of Dubai hospitality and good humour.

This painting is of one of the old buildings that caught my eye and was crying out to be captured in watercolour!
