I've been painting with watercolours for over 35 years. I love the way the paint can capture light and texture, as reflected in the paintings on this site.

From the beach - Port Erin (Isle of Man)
35 x 50cm (unframed)
This watercolour is based on a photo I took when visiting Port Erin ((Isle of Man) in August. I was walking up the beach with my back to the sea and just had to take a photo. I loved the contrast in the buildings and what's more, Port Erin has a great beach, even if not in this painting!!
Harbourside Houses (Castletown, Isle of Man)
32 x 42cm (unframed)
A watercolour of harbourside houses in Castletown (Isle of Man). Rosi & I lived 100m from this scene. Typical of the Isle of Man, it's a small scene which, to me, is full of interest! 🙂
(31 x 46cm unframed)
The lighthouse in Laxey Bay on the East coast of the Isle of Man
Sulby View2 (Isle of Man)
35 x 55cm (unframed)
I painted this view in Sulby a few weeks ago for a friend. In that painting the cottages were more distant. I've been wanting to have another go at it. This is the result!
A glimpse of Port Erin (Isle of Man)
35 x 55cm (unframed)
I took a photo of this view when on the Isle of Man in August. The composition really appealed to me. Wow! I thought. I must have a go at painting that! Three months later - here we are!!😀😀😀
This painting is featured in a recent (August 2022) issue of LEISURE PAINTER magazine.
A House in Hornsea
(44 x 34cm - unframed)
Three paintings completed in recent weeks 2022
Blue House (Alnmouth)
43 x 32cm (unframed)
When I saw this blue house in Alnmouth (Northumberland) in the summer, I just had to take a photo. The house really is these amazing colours. This is just a small section of a photo I took but I'm glad that I experimented with cropping it. 🙂
30 x 42cm
This watercolour was painted as a commission having been requested by a friend. The fact that I visited Lincoln only a few weeks ago helped with completing this one. I had taken several photos!
Peel (Isle of Man)
33 x 45cm (unframed)
This is a watercolour of Peel (Isle of Man). It's painted from a photo that I took when visiting the Isle of Man last week. It's one of Britain's smallest cities but what it doesn't have in terms of size, it makes up for in character!
